The Fresh Market and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Team Up to Find a Cure for Type 1 Diabetes
The Fresh Market will hold its 15th annual “Hope Floats” Sidewalk Sale on Friday, September 11 through Sunday, September 13, from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily to benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). Each of The Fresh Market’s 90 stores in 17 states will offer root beer floats, hot dogs and gourmet cookies in exchange for a donation to JDRF in support of its mission to find a cure for diabetes and its complications.

The Fresh Market continues to grow its chain of specialty grocery stores in the Chicago area with a new location in Lake Forest. The store will be the company’s fifth in the state, with the fourth store opening in Normal this fall. The company expects to open the Lake Forest store, which will be located at the former site of Don’s Finest Foods, in the spring of 2010.

The Fresh Market Announces Further Expansion in Florida
The Fresh Market continues to grow its chain of specialty grocery stores with a new location in St. Petersburg, Florida. The store will be the company’s twenty-third in the Sunshine State, with the twenty-second store opening in Vero Beach on August 26. Two other new stores are currently planned, in Ocala and Miami’s South Beach. The company expects to open the St. Petersburg store in the Cocoanut Grove shopping center in late summer 2010.

Wedding Bells at The Fresh Market
You can find many unique and special things at The Fresh Market®, but for one couple it was love.  Jennifer Darieng and Jason Smedley were meeting for their first date. The restaurant they chose had a lengthy waiting list and the two decided to walk over to The Fresh Market store nearby to pass some time. Walking and talking, somewhere between the fresh produce, the cheese counter or maybe surrounded by the delicacies of the bakery department – a sweet affection began. Nineteen months later, down on one knee in the parking lot of The Fresh Market, Jason popped the big question and Jennifer said ‘yes.’

The Fresh Market throws a paJAMa Party
The Fresh Market® and The Greensboro Children's Museum invite area children to roll out of bed in their favorite pajamas and come to the museum for free jam sandwiches on Saturday, June 27, 2009. From 10:00a.m. to noon, volunteers from The Fresh Market will make sandwiches using the company's new organic jams and will read aloud from two children's books: The Giant Jam Sandwich by John Vernon Lord and Janet Burroway, and Bread and Jam for Frances by Russell Hoban. Then it's off to "The Market" area of the museum, where children will be invited to grocery “shop,” pushing kid-sized carts and selecting healthy foods from the stocked shelves.
